I’m happy to have contributed to An Anthology by Mr. Clish Gittens and Dr. Crystal Drakes of Barbados. Beyond the Beach is a book of stories from the shorelines of Barbados & islands beyond. The book reconnects Caribbean people to the ocean, we too often take for granted.

This week, I was finally able to pick up my copy that Chrystal sent via the post office. I was moved to go LIVE on Substack and read a few paragraphs of my essay, “Just Blue Economy,” to my subscribers. I really enjoy nerding out doing this, it somehow feels restorative. I suppose it hits me every time that I’m living my dream; and I’ve remained deeply committed to my mission. My passion for sharing knowledge in creative ways is infectious, if I say so myself :)

Sometimes, you just got to inspire yourself, even when no one else is looking.

Join me this week daily at 5:00-5:30 p.m. AST (Substack Live) as I unpack the ideas behind my favourite essays/newsletters. My partner thinks no one is listening, and it would be more interesting to share pictures of our puppies playing in the yard. Let’s show him that nerding out on your own creative practice can be cool too, even if no one shows up. But, I hope you will! The bonus is that after each live stream, I share a clip of my day on my YouTube page, giving you a glimpse into my life on an active volcano.
